Brine De-Chlorination

Brine De-Chlorination

The Brine De-Chlorination Unit receives the depleted acidic brine from the Chlorine Stripper. The Unit increases the pH value and removes chlorine left in the brine. The pH value is controlled by dosing NaOH into the brine to reach a high enough pH level. This is necessary, because the ORP value can only indicate correctly the amount of residual chlorine in the brine in an alkaline solution.

Based on the ORP value sodium bisulfite is added to the brine.
